Aishwarya Rajesh

Aishwarya Rajesh is an Indian actress who predominantly appears in Tamil cinema, alongside Telugu and Malayalam films. Born to a Telugu family in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, she hails from a family of actors, being the daughter of Telugu actor Rajesh. She began her career in television as an anchor on Sun TV's comedy show *Asatha povathu Yaaru?* and later won the reality dance competition *Maanada Mayilada*. She made her feature film debut in *Avargalum Ivargalum* (2011) and gained initial prominence with Pa. Ranjith's romantic comedy *Attakathi* (2012). Her career breakthrough came with her critically acclaimed performance as a slum mother in *Kaaka Muttai* (2015), which earned her the Tamil Nadu State Film Award for Best Actress. Aishwarya has since established herself as a versatile leading performer, starring in notable films such as *Dharma Durai* (2016), *Vada Chennai* (2018), *Kanaa* (2018), *Ka Pae Ranasingam* (2020), *The Great Indian Kitchen* (2023), and *Farhana* (2023). She has also expanded into Malayalam cinema with *Jomonte Suvisheshangal* (2017) and Hindi cinema with *Daddy* (2017). Over her career, she has earned numerous accolades, including a Tamil Nadu State Film Award for Best Actress (*Kaaka Muttai*), the Tamil Nadu State Film Award Special Prize (*Kanaa* and *Vada Chennai*), two Filmfare Critics Awards for Best Actress – Tamil (*Kanaa* and *Farhana*), and four South Indian International Movie Awards (SIIMA) across Tamil and Telugu categories. She was also honored with the prestigious Kalaimamani award by the Government of Tamil Nadu for her contributions to cinema.
